DESCRIPTION:September 6\, 2025\, Saturday\, 7-9 p.m. – at the Town Hall\nDoug Waugh & Jennifer Pollard will give a historical overview and appreciation of the Waugh family farm\, from its purchase in 1927\, including the evolution from a dairy farm to the “Kip’s Christmas Tree Farm” business. Town Historian Pollard and Farm owner Waugh will share their knowledge of the early tavern on the property\, the various owners over the years\, barn fires in 1852 and 1927\, as well as historical anecdotes from generations of the Waugh family in New Braintree\, as only Doug can tell them.  A two-hour program with an intermission; Refreshments will be served.

Many town residents fought the ups and downs of this monumental\, protracted battle to its final successful conclusion with Governor William Weld in 1990.\nMaybe you were involved? He is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogy and holds a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University. \nHe is a lifetime member of the New Braintree Historical Society\, the Quaboag Historical Society\, served on the West Brookfield Historical Commission where he produced the Lucy Stone Bicentennial Celebration in 2018\, and most recently\, produced the Brookfield Historical Commission’s event; A Robert Wilder Memorial Presentation: Honoring Brookfield’s First Inhabitants. \nHe is also a member of the Massachusetts Archeological Society\, the Archaeological Society of Virginia\, the Planetary Society and the Mayflower Society. He builds and maintains websites\, creates video documentaries on YouTube\, and occasionally appears as a speaker.
